Did you know?
The committee shall consider the general policy of the Council of Europe and all political matters which fall within the competence of the Organisation. It shall report on urgent political situations and crises in Council of Europe member states.
In January 2018, Ria Oomen-Ruijten (Netherlands, EPP/CD) was elected as Chairperson of the Committee.

Terms of reference
The committee scrutinises political matters falling within the Council of Europe's mandate and deals with urgent political situations and crises in the organisation's member states.
Members
The 88 members are appointed by the national delegations to the Assembly and may belong to one of the six political groups in the Assembly or be non-registered.
